In the case of e'Pap, due to the fact e'Pap uses a chelated amino acid mineral, minerals are not absorbed in the duodenum, but in the jejunum. This is because the mineral is coated in Amino Acids - Glycerin ( a non essential amino acid). Due to the low Dalton weight (size) the molecule is hydrolyzed approximately 20% whilst passing through the jejunum and the balance is absorbed in tact.
When inorganic minerals are added to a food matrix, such as cereal flours, all minerals are inhibited for absorption, via phytates, tannins, polyphenols etc suppressing absorption in the duodenum and the jejunum.
Since the chelated amino acid minerals Dalton weight - size, is so small, absorption is approximately 5 - 7 times greater than all other minerals, whose Dalton weight - size is so much larger. In addition inorganic mineral nutrients have a electrical charge that causes them to be attached to other nutrients either oxidising them or rendering the mineral to become inactive and therefore not deposited at the receptor sites. Chelated amino acid minerals have a neutral charge, thus do not attach themselves to other nutrients in the diet.
It has been our observation that most people in Africa are not dying from HIV but more to the opportunistic diseases such as TB and Malaria. They have been conducting a large scale intervention in rural Zambia for the past year where they have used e'Pap as a component. They are now announcing a drop in HIV related deaths by over 50%.
